COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course provides step-by-step guidance on how to facilitate a course on basic computer skills in a study circle. The course includes practical activities which can be downloaded from the course and used offline, ensuring that participants—especially those with limited experience using computers—gain confidence in navigating technology.
WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR?
- Study Circle Facilitators – Individuals who lead small learning groups and help others gain confidence in using computers and the internet.
- Workers and Union Members – Especially those from the informal economy, community-based organizations, or trade unions, who need digital literacy to improve their participation in worker education, communication, and organizing.
- Adult Learners with Limited Digital Experience – Anyone who has had little to no exposure to computers and wants to build confidence in using technology.
- Grassroots Educators and Activists – Those involved in worker education, social movements, or community organizing, who need digital tools for outreach and engagement.
PRE-REQUISITES: WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED CRITERIA FOR ATTENDING THIS COURSE?
- Be able to read and write
- Access to a computer

Duration determined by the participants as this is a self-paced course, with 8 sessions to complete in the course.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
At the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Turn on, off and restart computer, using a mouse,keyboard and touchpad.
- Move files, create and delete folders
- Use Keyboard shortcuts
- Use a USB memory stick
Note: Each session will be facilitated by the study circle facilitator. The online activities should only be completed by the study circle facilitator.
